It would be sad to have died without knowing of the Acres of Diamonds at your feet!
Russell Cromwell, founder of Temple University, an accomplished orator shares a compelling story that never ceased to bewilder him. Why was it so often requested he often wondered? It was simply a story he experienced...
Find the Acres of Diamonds that are at you feet. If you have ever said or thought,
"The grass is always greener on the other side," this is a must read. It will give you a number of examples where people gave up untold joys only to chase a dream that they could never find.
Assignment:
Read the speech Acres of Diamonds by Russell Cromwell and see if you are overlooking something at your feet that you can't see because it is so familiar to you.

I do notice the potential for an individual to rise and in turn fall in the socio-economic setting, and this is what I at some point plan to do. I was raised humbly, but I plan to attend law school and eventually provide more for my children than I had. But that being said, with the structure of our society, we have a need for a flooded lower class of workers who will enable for the upper classes to have labor forces. This doesn't mean that everyone in the US can't be wealthy, in an increasing globalized world, it is possible for us all to be millionaires. But for that to happen, we have to continue to suck dry less developed countries and continue to repress their ability to reach our status. What I am getting at, is that there is more to the diamonds at our feet than the potential for wealth, there is the "X" factor of the humans around us that are used to gain our standing. and those people, I believe, are more important than attaining material goods.
Hi, Daniel.
I'm glad I found your blog through a google search for "Acres of Diamonds." I am editing a blog for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). The blog is called Barangay OFW. Our twin missions are reforms and reintegration. The latter mission means going home for good and finding the "acres of diamonds" in our country, the Philippines.
I'm a Visiting Fellow at the National Institute of Education in Singapore. I'm seriously planning to go find my acres of diamonds in my backyard.
A million thanks!
